Valve care is very important!
The cylinder valve is one of the most abused piece of SCUBA equipment.
First and far most understand that the number one problem with the valve is the nut on the outside!
Think about it, yep I mean the operator of the valve! These valves are design to handle the pressures that goes into the cylinder. So when turning the valve off, ONLY use two fingers and a thumb, NOT YOUR FULL HAND. There is no “OFF-er” setting on your valve. When you go to your sink, do you use two fingers and a thumb or do you use you whole hand? If you must tighten with more than two fingers and a thumb, your valve needs rebuild.
Make sure at time of hydro testing of your cylinder that your dive center is replacing your PRD (burst disk).
